What to Expect

What should I expect from my first PT-141 dose?

Updated 2026-05-04

Three things show up in trials: facial flushing in roughly 1 in 5 people, headache in roughly 2 in 5, and nausea in roughly 1 in 4. Effects start in 30-60 minutes and last 2-4 hours. Start low - 0.5 to 1 mg subQ for women, 1 to 1.5 mg for men - to scout how your body reacts before you commit to a planned timing. Take it on a relatively empty stomach so nausea isn't doubled by food.

IfIf your face flushes or feels warm
Thenthen sip cold water and lie down - it usually fades in 1-2 hours
IfIf you get a strong headache
Thenthen drink water and try a smaller dose next time
IfIf nausea hits hard
Thenthen move the next dose 2-3 hours after a light meal instead of empty stomach
IfIf you have uncontrolled high blood pressure
Thenthen do not use PT-141 - it transiently raises blood pressure
